Brydens Sydney Uni Flames are excited to announce the signing of American forward Jessica Kuster for the 2019-20 WNBL season.

Jessica brings to Sydney a range of experience beginning with her four years the US college system where she started for Rice University in the NCAA, setting their all-time scoring record with 1,852 career points.

Following her senior year, she enjoyed short stints in the WNBA with the San Antonio Silver Stars and former Tulsa Shock before pursuing a European professional career in Romania, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Italy.

Coming off a championship win this year with Passalacqua Spedizioni Ragusa in Serie A, Italy’s premier national league, Jessica says she is looking forward to relocating down under and getting her first taste of the country’s national league.

“I can’t wait to come in and do whatever it takes to help us be successful,” she said.

“This will be my first time playing in Australia and I’m thrilled that my first experience gets to be in a world renowned city like Sydney.”

Jessica also spoke about Coach Katrina Hibbert’s hand in helping her make the decision to move to Sydney.

“I can tell she’s a player’s coach who knows what it’s like to be in the player’s shoes which is something I really appreciate,” she said. “I’m glad to be joining her in her first season with the club.”

Coach Hibbert commented on the versatility Jessica will bring to an already talented group.

“She has great length and athleticism with the ability to guard the perimeter and post while offensively she can get on the rim, knock down the 3 or post up and break down her player.”

“Her versatility is exciting to watch and gives us a lot of options to play off within our style of play,” she continued.

“I know she is going to enjoy being with us in Sydney and I’m looking forward to seeing her compete in the WNBL.”
