The Adelaide Lightning have added Forestville Eagle and Centre of Excellence (COE) player Isobel “Izzy” Borlase for the 21-22 season. Borlase is currently on scholarship with the COE under former WNBL star Kristian Veal and has returned home to South Australia to add to the local talent the club has signed.

The 5’11 Guard was selected in the 2021 FIBA U19 World Cup squad where she averaged 3.6 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. Borlase will come into the squad as a replacement player.

Lightning GM, Tim Brenton said during the week, “We are thrilled to add another South Australian to our squad.  Currently, we have 8 out of 14 players from SA, as a club, we are proud and excited about this. Chris Lucas has done an outstanding job providing opportunities for players coming through Basketball South Australia’s High-Performance Program.  Adding Isobel to our group as a replacement player through this tough Covid period is great for SA basketball and we will all watch with interest how she develops at the next level”.

Borlase made her WNBL debut last night against Sydney and had 2 points and 2 assists in 8:45 minutes of action.
