Bendigo Spirit announces free kids’ tickets for remaining home games

Bendigo Spirit is thrilled to announce that for the remainder of the 2024/25 Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) regular season, kids aged 14 years and under will enjoy free entry to all Spirit home games at Red Energy Arena. This initiative is part of the club’s commitment to supporting the Bendigo community during a challenging time for many families.
With the holiday season and back-to-school period adding to cost-of-living pressures, the Spirit wants to give back to their loyal fans and encourage families to come together to cheer on their team. By offering free kids’ tickets, the club hopes to see Red Energy Arena packed with supporters as they push for home court advantage in the upcoming finals.
The Spirit’s remaining home games in Bendigo are scheduled for January 15, January 24 and February 2. With the Spirit already having confirmed their spot in the playoffs with yesterday’s win over the Sydney Flames in Mildura, this exciting ‘kids go free’ initiative is a perfect opportunity for families to experience the energy and passion of live basketball while supporting the team’s pursuit of Championship glory.
The first match using the ‘kids go free’ ticketing initiative will be this Wednesday evening’s blockbuster between the Bendigo Spirit and Perth Lynx. The match between two standout teams of the competition so far this season – who are currently ranked number 1 and 2 on the ladder respectively – is not only expected to be a high-quality game of basketball, but could have a major determination on where finals will be located.
Fans also have the opportunity to see one of their favourites – Kelly Wilson – break the WNBL all-time assists record. Wilson needs one more assist to break Kristen Veal’s record of 1,617.
Spirit General Manager, Dan Jackson, shared his excitement about the initiative.
“We understand that this time of year can be tough for many families, and we want to make it easier for our community to come out and enjoy world-class basketball. This is our way of saying thank you for your support and making sure as many kids as possible can join us at Red Energy Arena. Let’s fill the stands and show our Spirit as we aim to secure home court advantage for the finals!”
While kids’ tickets are free, all attendees must still obtain a ticket for entry, which can be secured via Ticketek at no cost. The offer applies to all kids aged 14 years and under.
