Bendigo Spirit confirm WNBL Grand Final details

For the first time in a decade, the Bendigo Spirit will contest the WNBL Grand Final, vying for their first Championship since the 2013-14 season.
They will face the Townsville Fire in the best-of-three series, with whom they have a fierce history in past WNBL Grand Final series. These two teams played off in three consecutive Grand Final series between 2012 and 2015, with the Spirit winning two consecutive titles before the Fire triumphed in 2014-15.
With their superior placement in the standings from the regular season – Spirit finished atop the ladder, whilst the Fire were third – the Spirit will host the opening game of the Grand Finals series at Bendigo’s Red Energy Arena on Wednesday 5 March. This will be followed by the reverse fixture in Townsville on Sunday 9 March, and then the final and deciding game – if required – back in Bendigo on Wednesday 12 March.
Due to an expected increase in demand for the WNBL playoffs, tickets for Grand Final series matches held in Bendigo will again be allocated seating (rather than general admission) to ensure that all fans have a reserved spot from which to enjoy the game.
For Bendigo Spirit members, tickets are already on sale! Spirit members will have already received an email containing a password that grants access to pre-sale tickets. By entering this password, members can also enjoy a 10% discount on their finals tickets.
Tickets for the general public will go on sale at 4pm AEDT TODAY (Friday 28 February), via Ticketek. Fans are encouraged to act quickly to secure seats in their preferred seating category.

Bendigo Spirit General Manager, Dan Jackson, shared his excitement about the upcoming Grand Final series.
“We are thrilled to be heading into the Grand Final series and vying for the Championship. Our semi-final match at Red Energy Arena was close to a sellout, so we can’t wait to see our fans fill the stands once again and hopefully surpass that number.”
“The support from our community has been incredible all season,” Jackson continued, “so we are making some ticket categories for the Grand Final series even more affordable, so that as many families as possible can be a part of what we’re hoping is going to be a pretty special week for Bendigo.”
