Flyers end Spirit’s winning run

Bendigo Spirit have fallen short against WNBL powerhouse Southside Flyers at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre on Wednesday.

The Flyers jumped out of the blocks quickly and maintained their advantage throughout the match to prevail 84-57.

Alicia Froling was Bendigo’s best to continue her stellar season, finishing with a team-high 15 points to go with three rebounds.

Casey Samuels (10 points) also reached double-figures, while New Zealand youngster Ezra McGoldrick (six rebounds) was another shining light.

The Spirit travel to Perth on Thursday ahead of a crucial clash against the Lynx at Bendat Basketball Centre on Saturday night.
