GEORGIA PINEAU TO MISS THE WNBL20 SEASON DUE TO INJURY

Villawood Properties Bendigo Spirit Georgia Pineau has suffered a season-ending knee injury.

On Friday November 6, Pineau was injured in the final practice game against Southside Flyers.

It is confirmed Pineau has ruptured her ACL, and will return home to Melbourne for surgery.

Spirit Head Coach Tracy York said Georgia was showing promising signs of having an impact prior to the injury.

‘Georgia’s development and preparation leading into the season was unquestioned. Unfortunately, the injury will not allow her to demonstrate her potential in the WNBL this year,’ said York.

‘The positive influence Georgia has had on our playing group both on and off the court will be sorely missed, and we will ensure there is a speedy recovery so Georgia can show this competition what she can do.’
