Import Mehryn Kraker continued her hot form as Bendigo Spirit fell short against Southside Flyers at Red Energy Arena on Sunday.

Kraker top-scored for the Spirit in their 91-81 loss to the Flyers, amassing 20 points – including five three-pointers – to go with five rebounds, four assists and two steals in an impressive performance.

The sharpshooting guard was well supported by captain Kelsey Griffin, who finished with 18 points and four rebounds, and Abbey Wehrung whose entire points tally came form outside the three-point arc.

Wehrung had 15 points, hitting five of her six three-point attempts, while Alicia Froling (11 points and five rebounds) also reached double digits.

Bendigo jumped out of the blocks in front of their home crowd, leading by as much as 10 points in the opening term.

Southside chipped away at the Spirit’s advantage late in the first half before getting in front.

Bec Cole and Maddi Rocci starred for the Flyers after half-time to finish with 24 points apiece.

But the Spirit didn’t give up without a fight, levelling the scores early in the final term through veteran Kelly Wilson before Southside steadied to prevail by 10.

Bendigo’s next assignment is against Sydney Flames on the road on Friday night.
