The Bendigo Braves faced off with top of the ladder foe, Geelong Supercats. A season first for the Braves, concluded the round with a 95-111 loss.

The Geelong Supercats came out guns blaring – shooting an incredible 50% from behind the arc.

Despite the loss, Braves back court Tessa Lavey and Kelly Wilson put a good fight, which included an 11 point run in the 4th quarter to cut the deficit to 6 points.

Tessa was once again all over the floor posting 17 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals.

Kelly Wilson, impressive as always, scoring 36 points, from 13-19 FGA, 9 assists, 1 rebound, 3 steals and 1 block.

Bendigo Braves currently sit third the NBL1 ladder with a 7-1 record.

The Champions IGA Braves Women take on Waverly Falcons this Saturday night (May 18th), tipping off at 5:30pm.

Becca Tobin arrived in Bendigo on Monday 14th of May. Tobin is in the line-up for the Champions IGA Braves Women against this week’s NBL1 contest against Waverly Falcons. Tipping off at 5:30pm.

 

Abbey Wehrung

Securing a win against a very talented BACOE, Knox Raiders now sit 6th on the NBL1 ladder with a 5-2 record.

4 starters for the Raiders finished the game in double digit scoring, including floor captain,Abbey Wehrung. Scoring 16 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal.

Know Raiders currently sit 7th on the NBL1 ladder going in to round 6.

Abbey Wehrung and the Knox Raiders take on the Frankston Blues at Frankston Basketball Stadium, tipping off at 5:30pm, this Saturday night.

 

Carley Ernst

Carley Ernst had a tough match up against strong sided, Ringwood Hawks on Saturday evening. Eventuating in a 66-78 loss, the Falcons never gave up and made a hearty 3rd quarter run against the Hawks.

Ernst scored a team high 20 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block – also shooting 7-11 at 63% from the field for the game.

A second game backed up by an impressive stat line from Ernst saw the Falcons win their second game of the season against BACOE. Posting 27 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals and 1 block; as well as shooting 50% from 9-18 FGA.

Waverly Falcons currently sit 13th on the NBL1 ladder moving into round 7.

Carley Ernst will take on future teammates against the Bendigo Braves at Bendigo Stadium, this Saturday night, tipping off at 5:30pm.
