Piper Dunlop Re-Signs with the Spirit

The Bendigo Spirit are pleased to announce the re-signing of exciting young forward Piper Dunlop for the upcoming WNBL season.

The 19-year-old said she can’t wait to suit up with Bendigo for another season.

“Bendigo Spirit has been a huge part of my upbringing and it’s an honour to represent them again,” she said.

“It’s something that will always seem surreal to me, especially with some of the old crew coming back, it feels incredible to suit up with them.”

Head Coach Kennedy Kereama said he’s excited to see Dunlop’s game evolve this season.

“Piper is a typical hard-working blue-collar country girl who does all the little things that won’t always show up on the stats sheet,” he said.

“She’s and offensive work horse that screens, runs, rebounds and is great at finishing plays at the end of the pass.

“She is wanting to evolve her game and continue to develop her game away from the basket, which will only add further dimensions to her already solid base.”

Dunlop joins Cassidy McLean, Sophia Locandro, Tessa Lavey, Alicia Froling, Megan McKay, Anneli Maley, Alex Wilson, Abbey Wehrung and Kelsey Griffin on the 2022/23 roster.

Bendigo Spirit pre-season training officially commenced last week, with the season-opener locked in for Sunday 6 November against Perth Lynx.
