Spirit appoint Daniel Jackson as GM

The Bendigo Spirit are pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Jackson as the club’s new General Manager.
Jackson brings a wealth of experience as both a professional player and an administrator in basketball operations to the role.
Jackson’s basketball journey began as a player for the Wollongong Hawks in the National Basketball League from 2007 to 2013.
He then continued his playing career with the Canberra Gunners in the South East Australian Basketball League until 2016.
After transitioning to coaching and administrative roles, Jackson gained valuable experience in various positions at Basketball ACT, including Executive Manager of Group Operations and Head of Competitions and Game Development.
He then moved on to serve as the Operations Manager for the University of Canberra Capitals in the WNBL from 2018 to 2021 and most recently as the General Manager for the Launceston Tornadoes in the NBL1.
“We are delighted to welcome Dan to the Bendigo Spirit family,” Richard Simkiss, CEO of SEN Teams, said.
“His extensive experience as a player and administrator, particularly in the WNBL, makes him the perfect fit for our club as we continue to grow and strive for our third championship.”
Jackson expressed his excitement about joining the Spirit.
“I am truly honoured to become a part of the Bendigo basketball community and take on the role of General Manager with this great club,” Jackson said.
“Bendigo has a fantastic basketball culture across all levels, and I’m excited to immerse myself in this community.
“Our goal is to build a highly competitive team for the upcoming season that the entire community can rally behind and I can’t wait to get started and contribute to the ongoing success of the Spirit, both on and off the court.”
Jackson will be relocating to Bendigo and is set to commence his role in mid-May.
The Bendigo Spirit and ownership group Sports Entertainment Network extend their gratitude to outgoing General Manager David Ingham for all his contributions to the club during his tenure and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
