Thank you, Ally Wilson
Bendigo Spirit would like to thank Ally Wilson for her contribution to the club over the past two WNBL seasons.
Wilson averaged 12.1 points, five assists and 4.8 rebounds per game last season as the Spirit came within one win of a finals berth.
Spirit head coach Kennedy Kereama paid tribute to the talented guard, who was a reliable performer and much-loved teammate.
“We thank Alex for her dedication and hard work at the Spirit,” Kereama said.
“We wish her all the very best with her next club.
“She has been a solid member of our program, and is easily one of the most talented players I have ever coached.
“Her skills and passion will undoubtedly make her an amazing addition to any team or program.”
Spirit general manager Dan Jackson said while the club was disappointed to lose a player and person of Wilson’s quality, they respected her decision to move on.
“We are absolutely disappointed that we are losing not only a fantastic player, but a person who is loved around Bendigo,” Jackson said.
“We do however respect Alex’s decision to move on and look forward to our fans showing her a warm reception whenever she runs out, regardless of the jersey she is wearing. We wish her the best.”
