Thank you, Sophia and Esra
Bendigo Spirit would like to thank Sophia Locandro and Esra McGoldrick for their contributions to the club.
Locandro has been a member of the Spirit squad for the past two seasons, while New Zealander McGoldrick joined last season.
Bendigo head coach Kennedy Kereama paid tribute to the pair on their efforts.
“Sophia has made huge strides in her development since joining us after college. Sophia has an incredible amount of potential and has been making all the necessary steps towards unlocking it over the past two seasons,” Kereama said.
“Unfortunately injuries have prevented Sophia from contributing like we know she is capable of and I have no doubt we will see Sophia back in the WNBL, either with our program or another, once she is back to complete health.
“We extend our best wishes to Esra as she returns home to play in the NZ women’s league this season.
“Esra showed remarkable growth with us last season and was an outstanding teammate, both on and off the court. Her ability to shoot from the perimeter, rebound and athleticism made a significant impact at key times for us last season.”
