Big Names, New Places
The last couple of weeks have seen some big names head to new places and some fresh new faces heading to the WNBL.
The UC Capitals announced two massive signings with Opal Jade Melbourne re-signing with the team while WNBA Draftee and WNBL Champion Nyadiew Puoch also joins the Caps. The Caps also announced that Alex Sharp and Monica Okoye will not be returning next season.
Perth also announced the signing of two Olympians with Anneli Maley re-signing and Ally Wilson joining her Gangurrus teammate at the Lynx. While forward Mackenzie Clinch Hoycard also re-signed with the team. The Lynx also announced that Aari McDonald and Emily Potter would not be returning for next season.
Geelong United, continue to build their inaugural roster with young gun Gemma Potter and Michigan University’s Elissa Brett.
Earlier this week the Bendigo Spirit the signing of emerging big Ashlee Hannan and the Spirit announced the re-signing of Casey Samuels on a two-year deal.
The Townsville Fire made a huge splash announcing the signing of the fifth pick in this years WNBA Draft Jacy Sheldon. The Fire also brought home locals Alica Froling and Alex Fowler. Lucy Cochrane has also signed with the University of Portland star returning home to be coached again by Shannon Seebohm. Finally the Fire signed announced forming WNBA player Lauren Cox joins the squad.
Finally, the Sydney Flames announced the signing of Celeste Taylor who was drafted 15th overall by the Indiana Fever in the WNBA24 draft.
