Game cancelled due to positive Covid-19 case.
The WNBL has announced that the scheduled game between the UC Capitals and the Sydney Flames on Sunday 12 December has been cancelled due to a positive COVID-19 case.
A member of the UC Caps club (who has since tested positive) attended a full team training session on Tuesday morning, under ACT Government Health rules, all players and coaches in attendance are deemed close contacts and have been tested and are currently undergoing a 7-day isolation period. The positive person will be required to undertake 14 days of isolation.
As a precaution, the Sydney Flames players will also undergo testing.
WNBL will work with both teams to reschedule the game to a later date in the season.
Paul Maley Executive General Manager Competitions said “The WNBL has a covid safety plan for all players, officials and fans that ensures we adhere to all Government requirements and move swiftly to prevent any spread of the virus. We will continue to monitor this situation closely working collaboratively with the clubs.”
