Jacqui Dover’s design honours the legacy of women’s basketball in Australia
Cygnett WNBL Indigenous Referee and proud Kunja woman, Jacqui Dover, has created a unique design specifically for the WNBL referees this season.
The Referee Panel will wear the design, incorporated into their official shirts, in the WNBL Indigenous Round, and then for the remainder of the season.
The artwork takes a prominent position across the front and rear torso of the garment.
“This artwork honours the pinnacle of women’s basketball in Australia, celebrating the collective journey and contributions of athletes, coaches, staff, and officials who have shaped the sport’s success.” – explains Dover
“In the top left corner, the eight WNBL teams are depicted, with interconnected pathways and support circles symbolizing the various stages and networks that lead athletes to the elite level. These paths represent the people who have paved the way for others to follow.”
“The stars, women and men, scattered throughout the piece highlight the vital roles of coaches, officials, families, staff, and volunteers—each of whom has been instrumental in the league’s achievements and in helping players reach their full potential.”
The Cygnett WNBL’s Indigenous Round will take place in Round 4, from November 20 – 24.
