KIERA ROWE SIGNS WITH RANGERS
The Dandenong Basketball Association is excited to announce that young star Kiera Rowe has signed a two-year deal with the Dandenong Jayco Rangers.
A huge signing that further secures the future of our elite WNBL program, Kiera comes to the Jayco Rangers a world-champion after winning the 2016 FIBA Under-17 World Championships with her Australian Sapphire teammates.
The young forward, currently playing with Basketball AustraliaÕs Centre of Excellence, will have the opportunity to learn from some of the WNBLÕs best forwards in Sara Blicavs & Carley Mijovic, while also becoming a key contributor throughout the 2017-18 season.
Jayco Rangers coach Larissa Anderson stated that sheÕs thrilled to have the young star on board for WNBL 17/18, holding the belief that Kiera will seamlessly handle the rigors of elite level basketball.

ÒHer tenacity and athleticism really suits our style and with her fabulous work ethic and dedication, I have no doubt we will see great things from her in the very near future.Ó
Those great things may be just around the corner for Kiera, with the young star selected to join the U/19 Australian Gems 15-player squad for the 2017 FIBA U/19 World Championships. An exciting time in the young basketballersÕ life, Kiera stated that sheÕs thrilled to have the chance to represent Australia once again and begin her WNBL career all within the next four months.
ÒIÕm really excited about taking this opportunity to join the Jayco Rangers,Ó said Kiera. ÒI played all my junior basketball at a club with a strong community and really enjoyed being a part of it. The team culture here seems similarly strong with hard working, focused players working together to achieve great results on the court.Ó
While the final U/19 Australian Gems squad is yet to be finalized Kiera certainly seems a likely selection, having already achieved world championship glory in 2016. However staying hungry and humble is a clear goal for the 18-year old, ready to compete hard for her spot in the 12-player team.
ÒU17 worlds was an amazing experience that taught me so much, so IÕm definitely excited to have the chance at going to another one with the 2017 U19Õs,Ó said Kiera. ÒObviously there is some very tough competition to make the final team, but IÕll give it my best shot and see what happens.Ó
