DECISION DELIVERED ON KEELY FROLING AND MARIANNA TOLO

February 28, 2020 | WNBL news

Keely Froling and Marianna Tolo of the University of Canberra Capitals have been issued fines of $250 each for inflammatory comments made following their Semi-Final game with the Melbourne Boomers on Sunday, 23 February.

The Chemist Warehouse WNBL advised the Capitals organisation on Tuesday afternoon that Froling and Tolo had breached Rule 1.5 of its Media Policy.

Both players were given 48 hours to provide a formal response to show cause as to why a penalty should not be issued and after reviewing their response, the WNBL did not consider their arguments to be sufficient to overturn the infringement.

The WNBL requires a commitment from all clubs to support the league in decisions made for the betterment of the competition.  We consider the issue closed and look forward to a great Grand Final Series.
