The University of Canberra Capitals have signed two players to its 2021-22 development squad.

Casey Samuels returns to the UC Capitals. Samuels was a member of our 2012-13 squad and won a Bronze Medal for Australia at the 2013 FIBA Under 19 World Championships.

Casey is coming off an outstanding NBL1 North season with the Gold Coast Rollers where she averaged 18.61 points and 7.61 rebounds per game.

Bronte Corke has just finished playing in the 2021 NBL1 West competition for the Mandurah Magic. The 19-year-old Sydney native is a 6ft tall Small Forward.

UC Capitals Head Coach, Paul Goriss, is excited to add these players to the UC Caps roster.

“Casey brings a wealth of experience and is ready for another stint in the WNBL with the UC Caps. She brings experience, toughness, and grit on defence, but she is also a great rebounding small forward and can shoot the 3.

Bronte has a great work ethic and wants an opportunity to learn and develop her game, she has great energy and will be a good addition to our squad.

Both players will help our team at practice every day. It is important that our development players are ready to step in when the opportunity presents, and both have a great work ethic, so they will be ready if called upon.”
