Flyers secure their first win against the Melbourne Boomers in the finals series

In an electrifying match-up, the Southside Flyers have come out victorious securing the first win of three, in the finals series against the Melbourne Boomers! With the Flyers being one of the best shooting teams and the Boomers as the best defensive team in the league, tonights match-up was set to be fast-paced and roaring with hunger and determination to take home this win.
The Boomers came out swinging, taking ahold of the lead early. With their quick momentum and slick hands, they utilised steals and defensive efforts to drive their offensive plays.
Monqiue Conti was a key contributer in this as she turned on early and drained some shots from all over. Despite the high-intensity from the Boomers, the Flyers didn’t miss a beat. Matching their energy and being a strong compeition, the Flyers ball control and movement kept the Boomers on their toes as Leilani Mitchell came alive in the cruical moments of the second quarter.
With only seconds to-go, the Leagues MVP Jordin Canada drained a massive three on the buzzer beater giving her team the 3 point lead they needed heading into the second half (44-47).
As the second half opened, both teams amped-up and created a real hustle out on the court. The Flyers and Boomers found themselves neck and neck in an attempt to take the lead. With Melbourne leading for the enterity of the game, the Flyers found a cruical burst of energy and exploded in the late minutes of the third quarter, finally taking their spot in front as they came from 2 points down to a 9 point lead heading into the final quarter.
As the minutes ticked over the game became a real nail-biter. Despite both teams hustled it out scoring one after the other, it was in the final moments of the game that the Flyers kept their lead and took home a 4-point victory.
