Round 7 Heat Check: Haley Jones

After 2 big outings across round 7, the Heat Check centres back on to Haley Jones once again.

Wednesday night was a breakout game for Geelong’s import star, with Haley scoring 27 points, along with 8 rebounds and 8 assists. “I think my teammates set me up in a lot of great positions,” Haley said following the 2 point win over the Flyers. “I’ve just been trying to find my rhythm, find my flow, and Chris (Lucas) has been helping me with that – So today it was finally coming all to fruition.”

Although the team suffered a 7 point loss to the Flames in their second game of the round, Haley continued her good form as she top scored for Geelong once again with a 16 point outing, along with 3 rebounds and 3 steals.

While 3 wins in a row would have been a nice way to wrap up the week, the reward instead to cap off round 7 for Haley comes in the form of WNBL Team Of The Week honours, presented by Foot Locker.
