Membership Terms and Conditions

2022/2023 Deakin Melbourne Boomers Membership Terms and Conditions 

 

Deakin Melbourne Boomers (the Boomers) Members are subject to the following terms and conditions.  

By purchasing a 2022/23 membership you agree to these term and conditions. 

 

1. Purchase of Membership 

1.1 A person or persons may choose to join or renew their Deakin Melbourne Boomers membership either online, or over the phone via a call back.

1.2 After applying for membership via the phone or online you will receive a confirmation email within 5 business days.  

1.3 Memberships purchased after the first home game will be charged at the advertised price on the Deakin Melbourne Boomers Membership website, and not be sold on a pro-rata basis unless advertised

1.4 The Deakin Melbourne Boomers reserve its right not to accept any Membership application in its absolute discretion. 

1.5 Subject to applicable law, once your membership has been processed you are not entitled to a refund. You may request a refund in writing (email) and your request will be assessed by Deakin Melbourne Boomers Membership management. Any refunds (whole or partial) will be at the discretion of Deakin Melbourne Boomers management. 

 

2. Renewing Members 

2.1 A renewing member is classified as anyone who held a membership for the WNBL2122 season. 

2.2 Renewing reserved seat members should renew by the renewal period end date to guarantee the same seats from the WNBL2122 season.  However, it is accepted that seating plans at Parkville and State Basketball Centre may require that the same seats are not available and best efforts will be made to provide suitable substitute seating.  

2.3 Renewing members must renew within the renewal period to receive the promoted discount (which is based on 2022/23 membership prices). 

 

3. Pricing

3.1 All prices include GST and may also include any league or stadium fees and levies.
 

4. Membership Defined 

 4.1 Memberships apply to all Deakin Melbourne Boomers HOME games that are played during the 2022-23 WNBL regular season at: 

4.1.1 Melbourne Sports Centre Parkville 

4.1.2 the State Basketball Centre, Wantirna South 

4.1.3 Gippsland Regional Indoor Stadium, Traralgon 

 

5. Membership Classifications and Concessions 

5.1 A family membership consists of 2 adult and 2 junior members (See 5.2 for definition of junior).
5.2 To qualify for a Junior Membership, the junior must be 17 years or under on 1 November 2022

5.3 To be eligible for a concession membership, members must hold one of the following forms of identification:  

    • Pension card (aged, single parent or disability) 
    • Student card (full time only) 
    • Veteran Affairs concession card

5.4 Please note that Health Care Cards are not accepted as a form of concession.
5.5 Concession Cards must be valid for the entirety of the 2022/23 WNBL Season.
 

6. Transfer of Membership 

6.1 Members who purchase a membership are entitled to transfer their ticket to a family member providing the guest is of the equivalent level of entry (e.g., Concession/Junior). Adult memberships may be used by family members in all other levels of entry. 

 

7. Membership Seating 

7.1 All reserved seating categories are subject to venue capacity. 

7.2 Reserved Seat Membership guarantees the member a reserved seat at Melbourne Sports Centre Parkville and the State Basketball Centre for Boomers home games during the 2022/23 WNBL regular season.  

7.3 Seating location is dependent on the membership type selected (see Venue Map).  

7.4 Deakin Melbourne Boomers reserves the right to move members if required due to venue requirements including, but not limited to, government health orders.  The Bomers will take all reasonable steps to contact affected members to inform of changes.   

7.5 Renewing members wanting to change their allocated seating must request the change in writing (via email).  The Boomers will make reasonable attempts to satisfy requests however changes are not guaranteed.  

7.6 Reserved seats will be allocated after the renewal period end date, prior to memberships going on sale to the public. Allocation for new members is based on availability and will be processed in order of the date membership is purchased (provided that a seating request is received).
 

8. On selling of Membership 

8.1 Deakin Melbourne Boomers membership cards and reserve tickets may not, without the prior written consent of the Deakin Melbourne Boomers, be on sold (including via on-line auction sites) or used for advertising, promotion or other commercial purposes (including competitions and trade promotions) or to enhance the demand for other goods or services, either by the original purchaser or any subsequent bearer.  

8.2 If a ticket is on sold or used in breach of this condition, the ticket may be cancelled without a refund and the bearer of the ticket may be refused admission. Penalties apply (including cancellation of any offending member’s Melbourne Boomers membership without a refund).
 

9. Upfront Payment 

9.1 Members may pay for their membership by: 

9.1.1 VISA or Mastercard; or  

9.1.2 via the instalment plan.. 

 

10. Monthly Instalment Plan 

10.1 By agreeing to pay your membership via the Deakin Melbourne Boomers Payment Plan, you authorise the Deakin Melbourne Boomers, or associated third parties, to debit your nominated Credit Card or Debit Account on the 15th of each month or next business day, during the instalment specified months of September, October, November, December, January and February. Additional fees (including credit card fees) may apply per below. 

10.2 Fees associated with the instalment plan will be a 3.09% administration fee per instalment. For new members there will also be a $5.00 set-up fee that must be paid directly to Debitsuccess upon selecting the instalment option. Members should be aware that additional fees apply for cancellations and missed payments. 

10.3 You can purchase a membership and join a monthly payment plan at any stage between September and November. An initial payment will be taken up purchasing a membership, with the next scheduled payment acting as a catch-up payment in order to bring our membership payments up to date. For example, a membership purchased in August 2022 on the monthly plan will have an initial payment that will cover the months of September and October. 

10.4 It is Member’s responsibility to ensure that sufficient funds are available in their nominated account for payments to be processed. Any fees levied to you by your financial institution for a dishonoured payment will be payable by you.  

10.5 If payment fails, the Deakin Melbourne Boomers Membership department, or associated third party, will be in contact to rectify this. Please note additional fees for dishonoured payments may occur. 

10.6 Should a member fall two or more instalments behind, their membership will be blocked, and membership entitlement will be suspended until payments are current. 

10.7 If you believe that a payment has been withdrawn incorrectly, please contact the Deakin Melbourne Boomers on memberships@melbourneboomers.com.au.  

10.8 If you are on the payment plan and your credit card number or expiry date has changed, please contact the Deakin Melbourne Boomers Membership department on memberships@melbourneboomers.com.au  to update these details. 

 

11. Automatic Renewals 

11.1 All Members paying via credit card (VISA or Mastercard), or a debit card backed by VISA or Mastercard, regardless of package type or payment method (upfront or instalments), agree to be opt in for ‘Automatic Renewals’, facilitating automatic rollover of your membership from year to year on these terms and conditions. Automatic Renewals apply to all full season members from WNBL22. 

11.2 Memberships will be automatically renewed into a similar package(s) and seat(s) for subsequent seasons, at the updated and relevant price, using the same payment details as the previous season, unless otherwise advised.
 

11.3 Prior to the automatic renewal, Members will receive written notice via email to the supplied Members email which details the pricing for the upcoming season and provides a 14-day opt out period.
 

11.4 During the opt-out period, Members must notify the Deakin Melbourne Boomers via email (memberships@melbourneboomers.com.au) if they wish to opt out from rolling renewals. A cancellation fee may be charged to all Members wishing to cancel after the automated renewal has taken place. 

 

12. Finals Ticketing
 

12.1 Finals tickets are not included in memberships. 

12.2 Should the Deakin Melbourne Boomers qualify to play in the 2022/23 WNBL Finals Series in March 2023, all members will receive exclusive access to purchase tickets to home games via designated pre-sale periods. 

12.3 The pre-sale information will be communicated upon confirmation of Deakin Melbourne Boomers’ qualification to play finals. 

12.4 Finals tickets are to be purchased through the venue’s ticketing agency, and the agency will also be responsible for all distribution of tickets.
 

13. Membership Packs 

13.1 All members will receive a membership pack which will vary depending on membership type. Membership packs will be available for pick up at home games, Interstate members will have theirs sent via post. 

 14. Membership Communication 

14.1 By purchasing a Deakin Melbourne Boomers Membership, you agree to be added to Melbourne Boomers electronic database and to receive information relating to the Deakin Melbourne Boomers; be contacted by Deakin Melbourne Boomers regarding any services, offers or special promotions that are associated with, endorsed or approved by the Deakin Melbourne Boomers.  

14.2 By purchasing a Deakin Melbourne Boomers Membership, you agree for the Deakin Melbourne Boomers to disclose your information to third parties associated with Deakin Melbourne Boomers, so they can contact you about their services, offers or special promotions.
 

14.3 Should a member not wish to receive any communications from the Deakin Melbourne Boomers or third parties associates of the Deakin Melbourne Boomers, Members must notify Deakin Melbourne Boomers in writing via email where you must specify that you want to cease receiving information from the Deakin Melbourne Boomers and/or any third parties associated with the Deakin Melbourne Boomers. 

 

15. Members Personal Details for Communication  

15.1 All Members must take responsibility for updating their personal details, so the Deakin Melbourne Boomers can communicate with them effectively. 

15.2 The Deakin Melbourne Boomers hold no responsibility for a member’s failure to update their personal details.
 

16. Member Behaviour 

16.1 Offensive or aggressive behaviour (including yelling and swearing when dealing with Deakin Melbourne Boomers staff, agents or WNBL or other event staff; and disrespectful comments on Boomers social media sites) will not be tolerated. All Members are expected to uphold the Deakin Melbourne Boomers Member Code of Conduct and failure to comply can result in immediate cancellation of Membership (without refund or compensation). 

16.2 The Deakin Melbourne Boomers reserve the right to suspend/cancel a Membership of any Member who behaves in a manner that is deemed inappropriate by the Club. The Deakin Melbourne Boomers have the right to decide what is considered inappropriate conduct. The member has no right to object or appeal against any decision made by the Deakin Melbourne Boomers to suspend or cancel a membership because of acting in a manner the Deakin Melbourne Boomers consider is inappropriate.

 17. Venue Rules 

17.1 Deakin Melbourne Boomer Members must adhere to all rules and restrictions imposed by the venues attended. 

 18. Cancellation Policy 

18.1 The Deakin Melbourne Boomers reserve its’ right to cancel a Member’s Membership without a refund where that Member is deemed by the Deakin Melbourne Boomers to have breached these terms and condition. 

 

19. Privacy 

19.1 As a Deakin Melbourne Boomers Member, you can be provided with promotional offers from sponsors and partners. This also includes potential pre-sale offers from the WNBL, or Ticketek. 

19.2 You consent to the Deakin Melbourne Boomers providing personal information you have provided to the Deakin Melbourne Boomers (excluding any details related to methods of payment) to our sponsors for the purpose of our sponsors providing you with details of offers that may be of interest to you. 

19.3 If you would prefer not to receive marketing or promotional material, please contact the Deakin Melbourne Boomers Membership Team on memberships@melbourneboomers.com.au to have your details removed from all future marketing and promotional databases.

19.4 Your privacy is important to the Deakin Melbourne Boomers and there are procedures in place to ensure that your information remains confidential. We are mindful that your personal details are private and as such we will only disclose your information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988. The Deakin Melbourne Boomers and Ticketek administer the current Customer Relationship Management system used by the Deakin Melbourne Boomers and Members acknowledge that their personal details will be available to these third parties for the purpose of administering membership with the Deakin Melbourne Boomers.  

19.5 Any information disclosed about a membership account can only be done with the Primary Account Holder. If a Secondary Account Holder wishes to become a Primary Account Holder, the existing Primary Account Holder must submit written confirmation to release them. This may only be done during the renewal process for the following season.   

19.6 You may access your private information held on the Deakin Melbourne Boomers database by contacting the Deakin Melbourne Boomers Membership Team on memberships@melbourneboomers.com.au
