Boomers Going Purple For Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision This Sunday

November 12, 2018 | Melbourne Boomers news

It has become one of the Deakin Melbourne Boomers’ most enjoyable events each season – anything and everything purple! That’s the call to fans and the Boomers faithful always respond with a sea of purple and some crazy outfits as well.

This Sunday’s showdown with Townsville (1pm) will not only be the first time the two teams have met at the State Basketball Centre since last season’s epic G2 of the Grand Final Series, plus it will also be the Club’s annual Purple Power game for Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision.

Known affectionately as the Purple Power Game, families love the chance to dress up and join in the fun.

This Sunday’s game will also feature a great chance for fans to win fantastic prizes for dressing up, while for every gold coin donation to MRV a raffle ticket will be offered for a chance to claim one of the 10 raffle prizes on offer.

Tip-off is at 1pm, with the doors opening at 11am.

The Boomers and Fire will be meeting for the second time in a week following Melbourne’s 78-70 win up north last Sunday. It was the first win in Townsville by the Boomers in four years.
