BOOMERS LAUNCH WOMEN WITH DRIVE

July 22, 2021 | Melbourne Boomers news

The Deakin Melbourne Boomers have today launched a new podcast, titled Women With Drive.

Hosted by WNBL and NBL1 athlete, Lou Brown, the podcast fills a gap that exists on coverage of all things women’s basketball.

With a huge two years of basketball about to kick off, it’s the perfect time to provide some great content on women’s hoops, which will be for basketball and sports fans alike. Each episode will be 12-15 mins and will include a range of special guests and experts.

Today’s launch episode sets the scene of what the next 16-months looks like, kicking off with the Opals at Tokyo2020, NBL1 National Finals, Asia Cup, WNBL 21-22, WNBA 22, Women’s World Cup 2022 in Sydney, then into WNBL 22-23.

The episode features non-other than the legend of Australian Basketball, Michele Timms. Timms and Brown chat about the Opals pre-season, Liz Cambage, beating the USA, and what their chances are in the Olympics.

Through the Olympics there will be an episode to preview each Opals match (and review results). That means, there will be at least another six episodes throughout the Olympic period to cover all things Opals.

So if you’re a fan of Australian women’s basketball, the athletes and teams that are part of it, this podcast is for you.
