Boomers On Verge Of Membership Milestone

October 8, 2018 | Melbourne Boomers news

The Deakin Melbourne Boomers sit on the verge of reaching a membership milestone ahead of this Saturday’s Home Opener against Bendigo Spirit at the State Basketball Centre (7:30pm).

The first 3,000 fans attending this Saturday’s game will receive a FREE T-SHIRT with thanks to Chemist Warehouse and Ostelin.

After eclipsing the 1,300 mark in membership last season, the focus from Boomers HQ this year was to surpass 2,500 Members and as of early Monday morning that target was within sight as Member number 2,435 signed up.

“It’s very exciting, we are very close to our target,” said Boomers Assistant GM, Lauren Jackson.

“Fans are still snapping up season memberships and reserving their seats, it’s great to see the support growing as we head into the opening round of the season.”

Melbourne’s WNBL team last week launched the Boomers Brigade, a low-cost membership option for those wishing to support, but not necessarily able to commit to attending games. The Boomers Brigade costs $15 for juniors (17yrs & under), $25 for adults and $50 for families (2 adults / 2 juniors). Every Member receives a scarf signed by Jenna O’Hea in the mail.

“The Boomers Brigade is a great initiative, especially for our fans interstate and overseas,” said Jackson, adding, “It’s affordable and connects them to the club as an official member.”
