Boomers Reward Juniors With A Visit From LJ

August 23, 2017 | Melbourne Boomers news
It's been a tough season for the Under 14.5 girls team from the Knox Raiders, but even after playing their last game of the season they still turned up for what they thought was an extra training session called by their coach. A tough season had yielded just one win from 18 games, but to a player the continued enthusiasm shown at training and in games was never questioned, and for the commitment and love of the game each player showed the Deakin Melbourne Boomers wanted to reward them. Ready for an impromptu training session, the team was understandably thrilled when they saw Australian basketball star Lauren Jackson walk in to surprise them with a special gift - a Boomers season membership to the upcoming 2017-18 WNBL season. "It's important players are rewarded for their efforts and though it's been a tough season, you always come away learning new things and youÊgirls have done that," said Lauren to the team and their parents. "The Deakin Melbourne Boomers want to say well done and congratulate you on always working hard, listening to your coaches and for loving the game ...... we have a season membership for all of you to come along and join the Boomers Family."
