Boomers Set To Thank Volunteers This Sunday

December 12, 2018 | Melbourne Boomers news

They are the people behind the scenes, quite often going unnoticed, but in every way they are right in the thick of the action. Volunteers form the backbone of sports and community clubs and this Sunday with thanks to AVJennings the Deakin Melbourne Boomers will be celebrating basketball’s volunteers.

Volunteers from the Boomers’ 81 partnering clubs and associations will be in attendance, while other basketball, sports and community clubs are encouraged to join in the fun and send their volunteers along for an afternoon of elite-level hoops.

The action starts at 3pm.

“Volunteers are the fabric of so many sports and community clubs,” said Boomers GM Justin Nelson, adding, “At the Boomers we have about thirty volunteers working at every home game, they are all vital members of our organisation and help us put on every event.

This is the second season AVJennings has supported the Volunteers Day game.
