Boomers Throw Support Behind Girls Got Game

November 30, 2018 | Melbourne Boomers news

The Deakin Melbourne Boomers will be out in numbers tonight at the State Basketball Centre to support Girls Got Game and the Melbourne United Victorian Junior Basketball League (MUVJBL).

All 23 junior games played at SBC tonight will feature girls teams from across Melbourne and there to watch and support them will be the Boomers senior players.

Melbourne’s WNBL team has been a strong supporter of the Girls Got Game program conducted by the MUVJBL and is welcoming tonight’s initiative.

“Girls Got Game is a fantastic program and continues to successfully promote girls in basketball each Friday night across this massive competition,” said Boomers GM, Justin Nelson.

“The full Boomers team will be there to support the junior tonight, sitting courtside, maybe even on the team bench, and cheering on the future stars.”

The Boomers are next in action tomorrow for the annual Dads & Daughters Day. Tip-off against Townsville is at 3pm at the State Basketball Centre.
