FAB FOUR BOOMERS READY TO TAKE ON THE WORLD

September 21, 2018 | Melbourne Boomers news

When the 2018 FIBA World Cup starts this weekend you will find plenty of Deakin Melbourne Boomers members and supporters following passionately.

The Boomers very own ‘Fab Four’ will be in green and gold and taking on the world in Australia’s quest for a gold medal.

Led by Boomers captain Jenna O’Hea, Melbourne’s WNBL team will also be represented by Cayla George, Steph Talbot and Ezi Magbegor.

The Opals will start their quest for a medal on Saturday night (Sept 22) when they take on Nigeria at 8:30pm (AEST), followed by games against Argentina at 8pm on Sunday night and then Turkey at 8:30pm on Tuesday night.

“The game time are very friendly to us here in Australia and all games will be shown on Fox Sports,” said Boomers GM, Justin Nelson.

“We can’t wait to see Jenna, Ezi Cayla and Steph in action, along with the rest of the team. Someone at work this week called them our ‘Boomers Fab Four’ and the tag has stuck.”

The likes of USA, France,  Spain, Canada and Japan are all expected to provide stiff opposition post the pool games.
