Deakin Melbourne Boomers Launch BEST TEAM TRAINING EVER For Junior Teams
In a uniquely different membership drive, the Deakin Melbourne Boomers have opened up 48 opportunities for junior basketball teams across Melbourne to become valuable members of the club and also attend the State Basketball Centre to enjoy an exclusive training session with a senior Boomers player.
The training sessions will see each team train with a Boomers senior player - such as Bec Cole, Maddie Garrick, Louella Tomlinson, Jenna O'Hea and Britt Smart.
This exciting initiative will also see nearly 500 junior basketballers join Melbourne's growing membership base.
"It's a really exciting initiative and one that further enhances our focus on connecting grassroots with the elite," said Boomers GM, Justin Nelson.
"We work extremely hard at grassroots level, especially with all the junior girls out there. Having role models and connecting with the stars of the game are really important aspects of our work right across the basketball community."
"We want to provide really unique opportunities. Imagine the feeling amongst a junior team when they step on court to train with Britt Smart - that's just something the players will never forget," added Nelson.
The Best Team Training Ever initiative will see the lucky 48 teams receive 10 junior season memberships - one for each player in the team, including full membership packs, the coach and team manager will receive two VIP sidelines seats to one home game, plus the team will get to train with a senior Boomers player.
Bookings are strictly only through the Boomers office - contact Steph Phillips atÊsteph.firstname.lastname@example.org
Training sessions will be held at the home of the Boomers, the State Basketball Centre, during late August and early September. Cost of the full package is $399 per team.
"It's going to be a lot of fun, and what a memorable opportunity for all those juniors," said Nelson, adding "Becoming a member is a really significant show of support, and we want to reward that with a unique opportunity that junior teams just don't usually have access to."
"We expect these 48 opportunities to be snapped up very quickly, it's just not something that junior teams have ever been offered before. They'll love it."
Best Team Training Ever is open to both rep-ball and domestic teams.
