Atwell’s Olympics call-up for Opals

July 26, 2024 | Perth Lynx news

A massive congratulations to Perth Lynx star Amy Atwell who has been added to the Australian Opals squad for the Paris Olympics.

Atwell was confirmed as an injury replacement for Bec Allen (hamstring) on Thursday night.

The Lynx vice-captain, who recently re-signed for the 2024-25 WNBL season, was already over in Paris training with the squad.

She becomes the third current Lynx player competing at the Paris games alongside skipper Anneli Maley and exciting recruit Ally Wilson who are both part of the Gangurrus’ 3×3 squad.

The sharpshooting guard was a massive reason behind the Lynx’s charge towards last season’s grand final, finishing second in the league for scoring with 18.8 points per game, including 40.1 percent from deep.
