Dunk to Win: Perth Lynx and VenuesWest join forces to celebrate star import, Laeticia Amihere’s, unique talent
Perth Lynx – in collaboration with VenuesWest – is thrilled to announce an exciting new promotion to celebrate the arrival of Canadian import, Laeticia Amihere.
Known for her remarkable athleticism, Amihere is one of the few female basketball players with the rare ability to dunk, a feat she first displayed in a game aged just 15. Since then, the 191cm centre has gone on to be a top-10 pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft, as well as represent her native – Canada – at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
This season, Lynx fans have the unique opportunity to witness Amihere’s incredible talent up close. On top of this, to honour having a player of Amihere’s calibre call Perth home this season, VenuesWest is launching a special promotion for Lynx fans.
For any ticket-holder or member attending a Perth Lynx home game, if Amihere dunks in-game, they will go in the running to win a fully-catered, 18-person suite at RAC Arena for the upcoming Gracie Abrams concert on May 16, 2025. Should Amihere execute a dunk during the game, one lucky fan will be chosen for this unparalleled experience, thanks to VenuesWest.
And if Amihere doesn’t dunk during the game but lands one in warm-up? Fans still have a chance to win, with VenuesWest will give away four tickets to an upcoming event at RAC Arena to a Lynx fan in attendance at that home game.
Samantha Macpherson, General Manager of Perth Lynx, spoke enthusiastically about the partnership and Amihere’s impact on the team.
“Laeticia is an extraordinary talent, and we are thrilled to have her as part of our line-up this year. Even just watching her at training, her athleticism and skill level are awe-inspiring. We’re thrilled that VenuesWest also recognise how exciting it is to have her in Perth this summer, and therefore have found such a unique a way to turn her unique abilities into an exciting opportunity for our fans.”
Stuart Lyon, Acting CEO VenuesWest added; “We’re proud to partner with Perth Lynx to help bring fans closer to the action and excitement of top-level women’s basketball. Laeticia’s skills truly have to be seen to be believed, and whilst being at Lynx home game in person will be a fantastic experience in itself, and we’re excited to offer this special prize to the Perth community to encourage even more people to come out and support the Lynx in person this season.”
The promotion will commence at the Lynx next home game, which will be held this Saturday, November 23, at Bendat Basketball Centre. The Lynx Round 4 clash with the Sydney Flames will coincide with the WNBL’s 24/25 Indigenous Round.
Tip-off is at 7.30pm AWST, with tickets on sale via Ticketmaster.
