Friday preview – Perth Lynx @ Bendigo Spirit

November 16, 2017 | Perth Lynx news

The Perth Lynx head to Bendigo looking for their first road victory of the season, as they take on the Spirit at 4:00pm WST tomorrow afternoon.

Coming off a three-game home stand, the Lynx hit the road for the first time in nearly a month, and will be looking to avenge a tough loss when these sides last met in Bendigo.

Perth hold a 4-1 record since that day, including a home victory over the Spirit, but will need to claim a result away from the Lair before their resurgence can be truly touted.

The scoring combination of Courtney Williams, Sami Whitcomb and Alice Kunek have set the tone for the Lynx thus far this season, helping the fast-paced team to an average of 84.4 points per game; comfortably the most in the league.

Meanwhile, the Spirit are looking to improve defensively without injured star Kelsey Griffin, having conceded an average of 99.5 points in the injured Opals’ absence.

Offensively, the trio of Betnijah Laney (48 per cent from deep), Nadeen Payne (44 per cent) and Rachel Banham (43 per cent) will look to stretch the Lynx from beyond the arc.

With the momentum of a three game winning streak boosting the travelling Lynx, tomorrow’s game looms as another hurdle to clear for a team looking to cement themselves in the WNBL finals conversation.

The Perth Lynx take on the Bendigo Spirit on Friday 17 November at 4:00pm WST.
