Friday preview – Perth Lynx vs Adelaide Lightning

December 14, 2017 | Perth Lynx news

The Perth Lynx host the Adelaide Lightning tomorrow evening looking to become the first team to clinch a playoff berth this WNBL season.

With the two sides having each claimed a game in the season series, the Lynx and Lightning will both be desperate to win the decisive third match; Adelaide wanting a victory to keep in touch with the top four, and Perth looking to extend their historic win streak to 12 games.

Courtney Williams has starred in both meetings between these teams, averaging 23.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.

Former Lynx centre Ruth Hamblin makes her return to the Lair, with the familiarity between the Lynx and Lightning being compounded by the sides having played just two weeks ago.

Perth used an even scoring load (Williams 22 points, Sami Whitcomb 19, Kayla Standish 17 and Alice Kunek 16) that day to defeat Adelaide, and will again be looking for even contributions across the board to help secure an important result against a playoff calibre opposition.

Natalie Burton faces a fitness test before making her return, having missed last weekend’s victory over the Sydney Uni Flames due to a rolled ankle.

Meanwhile, Adelaide will be without defensive star Natalie Novosel, who will miss the remainder of the season after suffering an ACL injury last Saturday.

The Perth Lynx host the Adelaide Lightning, with major post-season ramifications on the line.

With just two home games remaining, don’t miss your chance to catch the Lynx in action – tickets are on sale now, starting from just $10.
