July 27, 2022 | Perth Lynx news

The Perth Lynx organisation are excited to announce the re-signing of Mackenzie Clinch Hoycard to the main roster for the upcoming 2022/23 Season.

The 6’3 forward has been with the Perth Lynx for the last two seasons as a Development Player after coming through the Basketball WA State Pathway Program. The 2022/23 Season will see Clinch Hoycard elevated to the main roster after showing huge improvement last season.

The WNBL 2021/22 Season saw Clinch Hoycard suit up for 10 games, with her game against UC Capitals on the 12 March 2022, a highlight where she scored 5 points in only 2 minutes of game-time.

Currently playing for the Warwick Senators in the NBL1 West conference, Hoycard is averaging 14.6 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists a game.

When talking about her decision to remain at the Perth Lynx, Mackenzie said, “I have loved being a part of this club for the last few years, and I am so excited to get back on the court and see what we can achieve after falling short last season. There is a huge drive to succeed.”

Head Coach Ryan Petrik said, “Mackenzie has progressed through the BWA pathways to become a Lynx DP the last 2 seasons, and we’re excited to see what she can do as a contracted player. Mac is a modern-day 4. She’s an elite spot-up shooter, which will keep the floor spaced for us; and as importantly, is a high character/ high culture player. She’s someone the players love having here and playing with, and we’re excited to see her continue to develop in this league.”

The Perth Lynx roster for Season 2022/23 includes Ryan Petrik (Head Coach), Tayah Burrows, Lauren Scherf, Amy Atwell, Jessie Edwards, Alex Sharp, Sami Whitcomb and Mackenzie Clinch Hoycard.

Announcements on additional player signings will be coming soon.
