Forward Mackenzie Clinch Hoycard is locked in for a fifth WNBL campaign with Perth Lynx in a massive boost for the team.

The 25-year-old from Kalgoorlie started with the Lynx back in 2020 as a Development Player before being elevated onto the main roster.

Clinch Hoycard, who featured 26 times for Perth last season, averaging 5.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game, she said was excited to take her game to another level in 2024-25 as the reigning grand finalists look to go one better.

“I’ve been very fortunate to be involved in this program for the last four years and heading into my fifth year I am so excited to take my game to a new level again,” Clinch Hoycard said.

“The Lynx organisation feels like family to me and the community we have built over the last few years is amazing and I can’t wait to be a part of that again in the 24-25 season.”

Lynx general manager Samantha Macpherson highlighted Clinch Hoycard’s growth over the past four seasons and hoped others would follow her path from country WA to the WNBL.

“Mackenzie has grown significantly both as a person and as a player for the Lynx over the last four years,” Macpherson said.

“She is a tenacious, skilled, and personable WA athlete and we are exhilarated to have her back this season, showing young WA girls there is a very real pathway into the Lynx from country WA.”
