Perth clinch finals berth

January 7, 2019 | Perth Lynx news

For the fourth consecutive season, the Perth Lynx have clinched a finals berth, after round 13 of the season.

Perth now sit in third place on the ladder, but still have the opportunity to take a spot in the top two, and claim a home-court semi final advantage.

A crucial test is ahead for the Lynx, facing two of the top four teams in the next two rounds.

This Thursday, Perth will host second-place Melbourne, who the Lynx haven’t been able to register a win against so far this season.

A win against the Boomers will put the Lynx in a position to get into the top two, with another win in the final round against fourth-placed Adelaide.

Coach Andy Stewart sees this as an opportunity to prepare the team for a tough finals series.

“We play two finals teams to get us ready for the playoffs,” he said.

The semi-finals are set to take place on the 26 January weekend, and tickets will be released closer to the date.
