The Perth Lynx season has come to an end, after a 63-81 defeat at the hands of the Dandenong Rangers. The series decider followed a similar path to the first game of the semi-finals, with the Lynx facing an early deficit before throwing caution to the wind in an impressive comeback. Sami Whitcomb had just two points to half-time, but caught fire in the third quarter to lead the Lynx to the brink of the lead; she finished with 20 points and five rebounds. Ruth Hamblin added 15 points and two blocked shots, while Carley Mijovic’s impact was felt from the early stages, as she again played an off-ball roll to free up teammates with screens and picks. The loss saw the Lynx finish with a 0-4 record in Dandenong on the year, and was a frustrating finish to an extremely impressive season marked with several major milestones and highlights. Dandenong will advance to face the Sydney Uni Flames in the WNBL Grand Final.
