Perth Lynx Off-Season Wrap – 27 April 2017
April 27, 2017 | Perth Lynx news
After a quiet few weeks thanks to the Easter break, the Perth Lynx Off-Season Wrap makes its return, with a focus on some international leagues.
Sami Whitcomb has begun training camp with the WNBA’s Seattle Storm, working alongside such talents as Jewell Loyd and Breanna Stewart, as the team builds towards their pre-season opener on Wednesday 3 May.
Closer to home, the Perry Lakes Hawks continued their strong start to the season, defeating the Stirling Senators.
The Hawks weren’t fazed by the absence of Toni Edmondson, and were helped by 18 points and nine boards from Natalie Burton.
Kisha Lee tallied seven points and seven rebounds for the Senators in the tough loss.
Tahlia Fejo was a bright spark in a narrow defeat for the Kalamunda Eastern Suns, scoring 16 points while adding two assists and four steals, as the young point-guard continues to benefit from a significant workload.
Meanwhile, Ruth Hamblin has confirmed she will not return to the WNBA’s Dallas Wings for the 2017 season, instead focusing on earning a place on the Canadian national team for the 2020 Olympic Games.
