The Perth Lynx will be returning to TV screens in 2017/18, with the WNBL today confirming a three-year partnership with Fox Sports. The arrangement will see at least one game per week, and every game throughout the WNBL Finals, broadcast live on Fox Sports through til 2019/20. The Lynx were proud to break ground last season, hosting two matches for live broadcast, and are poised to return to living rooms across the country thanks to Fox Sports. Alongside the announcement of the broadcast deal came confirmation of a revamped WNBL format ahead of the 2017/18 season. The competition is now set to run between October and January, before a best of three semi-final and Grand Final series determine the 2017/18 WNBL Champions. “The WNBL is the longest running elite female competition in the country,” said Fox Sports CEO Patrick Delany. “It features incredible athletes, who are strong and fierce competitors.” “Today’s announcement will ensure that fans around the country will be able to watch these athletes live in action.” With back-to-back club MVP Sami Whitcomb and Toni Edmondson confirming their return for the upcoming season, the Perth Lynx have begun to lay the ground-work for a pursuit of the WNBL Championship in 2017/18, the team’s 30th anniversary.
