Perth Lynx supports WA Labor’s $16 Million commitment to Warwick Stadium

The Perth Lynx welcomes today’s announcement by the WA Labor State Government of a proposed $16 million investment to upgrade Warwick Stadium, pending re-election in this year’s state election. This significant commitment is set to enhance basketball facilities in Western Australia, benefiting players at all levels.
Craig Hutchison, CEO of Sports Entertainment Network, which majority owns the Perth Lynx, expressed his enthusiasm for the announcement.
“The Perth Lynx welcomes the Labor State Government’s announcement of a proposed $16 million investment to build three new showcase basketball courts in Warwick, pending re-election in this year’s state election,” Hutchison said.
“Western Australian basketball is booming, and the Government announcements and commitments in recent days – including today’s at Warwick – are really exciting for everyone from community basketball to the elite level.”
Hutchison highlighted the importance of this investment for the future of basketball in the state.
“The Lynx prides itself on being an elite, Perth-based team that young athletes can aspire to emulate and grow into local champions on the national stage.
“Our SEN team joins our co-Lynx owners, Jodi Millhahn and Christian Hauff, in acknowledging today’s announcement as a really vital step for all of the state’s female and male players to ensure elite facilities are available in Western Australia.
“The Lynx is already in lockstep working with the government to grow female basketball in the state. We look forward to seeing more detail and engaging in discussions about the Lynx’s involvement at this proposed new, world-class high-performance and community venue.
“This proposed investment underscores the growing popularity and success of basketball in Western Australia, promising to provide top-tier facilities that will support the development of future basketball stars. The Perth Lynx is excited about the potential opportunities this upgrade will bring to the basketball community.”
