Perth Lynx vs Townsville Fire – Sunday Preview

January 17, 2020 | Perth Lynx news

The Perth Lynx take on the Townsville Fire in their final home of the 2019/20 regular season.

Perth sit just one ladder position out of finals contention, but will need to win each of their five remaining games to give themselves a shot at post-season action.

They’ll also need either Adelaide or Canberra to lose their remaining fixtures.

The Lynx last met the Fire in December in Townsville, coming away with a five-point win.

Star wings Ariel Atkins and Katie Ebzery combined for 31 in that one.

Perth will be without centre Imani McGee-Stafford for the remainder of the season after parting ways with the American early this week.

Despite her absence last week, the Lynx matched Bendigo on the glass on the way to a 19-point victory.

Townsville are led by Abby Bishop, who averages 15.9 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.

The Fire sit in second last position on the ladder with five wins for the year.

Tip-off on Sunday is at 2pm and tickets are available here.
