Saturday preview – Perth Lynx @ Adelaide Lightning

December 1, 2017 | Perth Lynx news

The Perth Lynx head to South Australia to face the Adelaide Lightning on Saturday 2 December, in what should be an intense battle between two top-four sides.

Despite riding an eight game winning streak into the game, the Lynx are looking to embrace an underdog mentality according to Andy Stewart.

“What we’re trying to do is win every series,” said the Lynx head coach.

“We’re going into Adelaide, we’re not on top of the series, we’re at the bottom of the series, 0-1.”

“That’s the way we’re going to approach it, it’s not a case of where we’re sitting on the ladder.”

The Lightning got the better of the Lynx when the sides met previously, with Adelaide’s Abby Bishop pouring in 35 points and claiming 10 rebounds to help her side to an 89-81 victory.

However, the Lynx have found a wave of momentum since that day, and will be looking to continue their fine form against an Adelaide outfit that enter the game buoyed by an impressive win over the Sydney Uni Flames.

Courtney Williams and Sami Whitcomb combined for 47 points in Perth’s victory on Thursday, and are set for an engaging matchup Aimie Clydesdale and Natalie Novosel.

In the paint, Kayla Standish, Natalie Burton, Amanda Dowe and Olivia Thompson will be tasked with stopping former Lynx centre Ruth Hamblin and Australian Opals forward Abby Bishop.

The Perth Lynx take on the Adelaide Lightning on Saturday 2 December, at Titanium Security Arena.

Tip-off is scheduled for 12:30pm WST.
