SHARP SIGNS ON
The Perth Lynx organisation are thrilled to announce the re-signing of Alex Sharp to the roster for the upcoming 2022/23 Season.
A much-loved member of the team, Sharp has been a consistent improver, recognised in 2021 with her inclusion in the Australian Opals team who won Bronze at the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup in Jordan. Currently playing for the Willetton Tigers in NBL1 West, Sharpy is backing up her MVP 2021 Season, averaging 18.1 points, 12.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists.
Speaking about what Alex gives to the team, Head Coach Ryan Petrik said, “We love versatility, and Sharpy gives us tremendous flexibility with how we run our program. She can play as a 2 in our big line-ups but is big enough to guard smaller 4’s in our small ball line-ups. Her work ethic and desire to improve has always been elite, and we’re excited to see what she can do in year 3 with us.”
When asked why she decided to stay in Perth, Alex said, “I’m so excited to be staying in Perth for another season. Over the past couple of years, I’ve come to call this place home, and I can’t wait to get back out on court and in front of the awesome basketball community over here. I love being a part of this club and feel as though there is some unfinished business after the way we got so close last season.
I’m looking forward to coming together with the talented group Ryan is putting together and seeing what we can achieve.”
The Perth Lynx roster for Season 2022/23 includes Ryan Petrik (Head Coach), Tayah Burrows, Lauren Scherf, Amy Atwell, Jessie Edwards and Alex Sharp.
Announcements on additional player signings will be coming soon.
