The Perth Lynx vs Sydney Uni Flames – Saturday preview

November 23, 2018 | Perth Lynx news

The Perth Lynx (6-2) will face the Sydney Uni Flames (0-9) on Saturday, 24 November, at Brydens Stadium.

Perth are looking to bounce-back after losing at home against the Melbourne Boomers on Friday, 16 November.

The Sydney Uni Flames are yet to register a win for the season, losing their first nine games.

Asia Taylor said the team won’t consider the win/loss record when preparing for their matchup with the Flames.

“We’re expecting it to be a battle, we don’t take any team lightly,” she said.

“This league has a lot of talented players in it, and Sydney definitely have some of their own.”

The Lynx were unable to stay with the Boomers last round, and Taylor knows the team didn’t play their usual style of game.

“It’s about us and playing Lynx basketball, last week were pretty frustrated with how that game went,” she said.

“We just really want to get back to playing our game and get the team back on track.”

Lauren Mansfield will notch her 100th WNBL game of her career as she suits up on Saturday.

Taylor said it’s a great achievement, in such a competitive league.

“Playing basketball is such a blessing, especially at the professional level because there’s so many girls that want to do what we do, and there’s so few spots,” she said.

“I’m happy for her and I hope she has 100 more.”

Tip-off is at 2:00pm WST.
