Toni Edmondson re-signs with Perth Lynx

The Perth Lynx are pleased to announce that Toni Edmondson has re-signed for the 2017/18 WNBL season. Edmondson enjoyed an outstanding 2016/17 season, starting all 27 games for the Lynx while averaging 8.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. “I can’t wait for the season to start,” said the New Zealand Tall Fern. “Everyone understands the expectations now.” The 29-year old returns to the Lynx on the back of one of the best seasons of her career, filled with highlights such as her unbelievable 22-point burst in a 4:44 period against the Adelaide Lightning. The New Zealand native has adopted WA as a second-home, with her new deal extending her stay in Perth into a sixth season, during which time she has played 122 games for the Perth Lynx. “I’ve been here for five years now, so WA definitely feels like home now.” Edmondson has played a total of 211 games WNBL games since entering the league in 2007/08. Edmondson joins returning Lynx teammate Sami Whitcomb on the 2017/18 roster. “We’re going to play a really exciting, fun, up-tempo style of basketball.” “That’s Andy (Stewart)’s style, that suits Sami, it suits me as well.” The club is set to make more player announcements soon.
