YOUNG GUN ASHLEE HANNAN SIGNS WITH THE LYNX FOR 2023-24 SEASON

September 11, 2023 | Perth Lynx news

The Perth Lynx are excited to announce the signing of young forward Ashlee Hannan to the roster for the 2023-24 Season.

Hannan, a 22 year old, 192 cm centre/forward, attended the Centre of Excellence (CoE) and was part of Australia’s U17 World Cup squad in Belarus back in 2018. She was recruited to Division I college, the University of Texas, in 2019 but made the decision to return to Australia shortly after, taking some time away from the game.

Most recently, Hannan has played in the NBL1 East with the Albury-Wodonga Bandits. In the 2023 season, Ashlee averaged 13.4 points and 8.3 rebounds, having a standout game against the Hornsby Ku Ring Gai in Round 2, scoring 23 points and 22 rebounds in a 64-point win.

On her decision to head West and play for the Lynx this season, Ashlee said, “I am stoked to be joining the Lynx this season. It has always been a dream of mine to be a part of the WNBL. I can’t wait to get to Perth and get started!”

Head Coach Ryan Petrik said, “We’re excited that Ashlee has chosen to start her WNBL career in Perth. She’s an athletic, young big with a huge upside; she can really move and can put the ball on the floor, which suits our style of play. Having seen some of the bigs come through here and thrive the last couple of years, we can’t wait to see what Ashlee can do in this system”.

The Perth Lynx roster for Season 2023/24 includes:  Amy Atwell, Mackenzie Clinch Hoycard, Chloe Forster, Miela Goodchild, Stephanie Gorman, Anneli Maley, Alexandra Ciabattoni, Emily Potter, Aari McDonald and Ashlee Hannan.
