YOUNG GUN JEWEL WILLIAMS READY TO TAKE THE NEXT STEP UP
The Perth Lynx is pleased to announce the signing of local young gun and Development and Academy player, Jewel Williams to their 2020 Chemist Warehouse WNBL playing roster.
Williams, who hails from Bullsbrook, plays for the Kalamunda Eastern Suns and was named an SBL All-Star in 2019, averaging 14.2 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game throughout the season.
Coach Ryan Petrik sees potential with Williams and believes she will be pushing to be included in the rotation, “She can shoot it and can get into the paint off the bounce whenever she wants, which will help unlock some of the elite wing shooters we already have”
Williams is looking forward to taking advantage of this opportunity and making the most of her time in the Queensland Hub, “It’s exciting to be a part of the Perth Lynx team for this season. We have a great group of girls that want to do well together, and we are working hard every day.”
“The format this season is unique with the condensed schedule, but I am looking forward to the different experience and an opportunity to contribute and support the team to achieve our goals.”
The Perth Lynx roster for WNBL 2020/21 now features Katie Ebzery, Darcee Garbin, Alex Ciabattoni, Alex Sharp, Maddie Allen, Nes’eya Parker-Williams, Jessie Edwards, Tayah Burrows and Jewel Williams.
