Bec Cole – A Lifelong Flyer

August 31, 2024 | Southside Flyers news

Bec Cole, a Flyer since day one of the club, and Championship Captain, will continue her wonderful career with the Flyers in the upcoming WNBL season.

The ‘heart and soul’ of the team, Bec capped off what is already a wonderful career with the Flyers and in the WNBL, with a Championship in March this year, her second Championship with Southside.

“I love this club. The players, the staff and all the supporters, it is fun to be part of such a great organisation. Of course the support provided by Gerry and Val Ryan is special and it makes you realise how fortunate we are to be part of this incredible group,” Bec said this week.

“The changes at the Flyers for this season are exciting and I know we will have another great season. While it will be hard work as always, with the group we have here, it is sure to be fun and I am sure the supporters will enjoy another great year,” Bec added.

Following the WNBL season, Bec was joined at the Waverley Falcons in the NBL1 South by Flyers’ teammate Carley Ernst and enjoyed a very successful ‘off season’ winning the NBL1 South and NBL1 National Championships.

Two National Championships in five months, but Bec will not be leaving anything to chance in the quest for another Championship with the Flyers.

“We certainly have a big challenge and there will be no resting on our efforts of last season, we want to enjoy more success, so we have a lot of work to be do,” Bec added.

Passionate about health and wellness, Bec is also the Ambassador for Lymphoma Australia, working closely with the organisation to build awareness and advocacy campaigns to support their work. Bec is also enjoying a number of roles in the media and the Flyers family is sure to support her in her quest to blaze a trail in the media.

Keep a close look out for Bec Cole on and off the court this WNBL season.
