Flyers march into the Grand Final

Flyers too strong for the Melbourne Boomes in the Game 3 Decider to move into the Cygnett WNBL Grand Final. Flyers 93 d Boomers 77.

While it was a team performance, with everyone contributing in significant roles at both ends of the court, it was Lauran Jackson who stole the show with an incredible 38-points, together with 11 rebounds.

Mercedes Russell added 17-points, along with 9 rebounds, Captain Bec Cole had 11 points and Leilani Mitchell was the other Flyer in double figures with 10.  The stats don’t provide the entire story of the game with the important contributions across the board, highlighted by the 24 assists (led by Maddy Rocci with 6), 37 rebounds and, importantly only 8 turnovers for the game.

The Flyers go into their fourth Grand Final in five seasons in the competition with Game One of the Three Game Series against the Perth Lynx being played in Melbourne on Sunday.
