FLYERS TOWNSVILLE GAME NOT BEING PLAYED ON SATURDAY

Cyclone Kirrily in North Queensland has today forced the closure of Townsville Airport. Therefore, the Cygnett WNBL game between the Flyers and the Fire, scheduled for Saturday 27 January at 7.30pm (AEST), will no longer go ahead.
The decision was made in the best interests of athletes and the community welfare.
After playing in Sydney on Thursday night, the Flyers Flyers will return to Melbourne on Friday instead of travelling onto Townsville.
The Flyers are supporting the re-scheduling of the game to ensure all teams play the same number of games during the regular season. We will now work with the WNBL and the Fire to find a suitable date to play this game.
If rescheduling the game is not possible, would be disappointing for the competition and supporters, then Rule 2.11e from WNBL Rules will be applied:
2.11e WNBL League Management will assess if the game is required to be replayed depending on ladder position and if the game is needed to determine playoffs position. If abandoned prior tip off and not replayed, the teams effected by the abandoned game win/loss percentage will be determined by one (1) less game.
More information will be shared as soon as available
